INFORMATION EDUCATION & COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN UNDER TOTAL SANITATION CAMPAIGN – 2006 to 2011
Considering the dedication and potentialities of the Abralow Memorial Multipurpose Society, the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission, Govt. of India, Ministry of Rural Areas and Employment, New Delhi had awarded the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign to be taken to 257 villages of Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh. It was one of the major responsibilities given to AMMS by the Govt. of India.
The AMMS brought out pictorial books in four local languages, brought out a VCD and published an audio cassette of songs on water and sanitation in local languages. This helped the campaign to reach to people in a more appealing way. A continuous follow-up program by the AMMS has resulted in construction of low cost toilets developed by the AMMS in many rural areas of Dibang Valley and Banggo Village under Dambuk CD Block has been awarded the Nirmal Gram Purushkar Award.
The AMMS mobilized the District Administration, Public Health Engineering Department, Medical Department etc. and touched almost every household of the villages. The campaign was launched by Shri Roding Pertin, hon’ble MLA, Dambuk of Arunachal Pradesh in the presence of ShriBidaGadi, Deputy Commissioner, Roing, ShriKirpaPertin, EE, PHED, Roing and officers from different departments.

Sensitization, Workshop and Training to PRI’s for Handling Water Quality Field Test Kits under National Rural Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance Programme
Concern about health and hygiene issues or lack of awareness among the rural masses about the water quality and the problem related to water borne diseases is alarming day by day.A capacity building on water quality testing field kits under (RGNDWM) was started on 16th March 2008 in the AnchalSammitte, Hall,Roing. Around 60 trainees from Roing CD Block actively participated in the training. The programme was launched by ShriDatureMiuli, Chairmam, ZillaParishad, Lower Dibang Valley District, Roing as a chief guest .The National Rural Water Quality Monitoring & Surveillance programme was sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Mission, Govt of India, New Delhi through Community Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) PHED ,Itanagar, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh.
Training at Gram Panchayat Level for handling water quality Field Test
To strengthen the awareness programme, the Abralow Memorial Multipurpose Society (AMSS) was given the responsibility to carry out the door to door mass awareness programme cum imparting of training to five participants at every Gram Panchayat level, which successfully reached a total of 60 (Sixty) Gram Panchayat segment in the district, where the AMMS distributed 200 water filter and water quality field test kits to each Gram Panchayat. The programme has been lauded by the District Administration and in particular by the Public Health Engineering Department, Roing.

The dedication of Abralow Memorial Multipurpose Society has been appreciated by one and all for implementing the scheme in the grass root level
The AMMS was given the task to carry out the interpersonal communication at grass root level in order to motivate the mass at the grass root level regarding water and sanitation issues and taking up behavioral changes in communication.



Health Camp for remote Desali Village
Desali, May, 23 , 2011 : A two days medical camp was organized at Desali from May 18.The camp was organized by Hunli Sub-divisional with assistance from Abralow Memorial Multipurpose Society, Roing, District Medical, Roing and other NGO of district.
The medicines were carried on head load by the ALCs from the Sub divisional Head quarter of Hunli to the circle Headquarter of Desali, through some of the most treacherous terrains which include turbulent rivers, steep climbs and slippery precipices over a 6 hour trek.
A team of doctors comprising Senior Medical Officer, Dr Okene Mega and Senior Dental Surgeon, Dr Mite Linggi from District Hospital Roing, attended the to the medicals need of 258 persons ,excluding those who were treated for dental problems. Kebi Pulu from Creative Health Association, ShriKomini Meto and AmugeMisu from AMMS rendered service to the team. Representative of AMMS conducted Water quality field test program..
